The Bee’s book club was formed in 2005 to bring together the different women in our lives. It was created so that the somewhat loose ties that bind us all together could be cemented into something greater and something we could all take from as well as give back to.
It all started with a lunch between two friends and a napkin that held great ideas. These two ladies had the initiative and desire to create a group of women who would not only get together to discuss books, but also create a sense of camaraderie and ultimately contribute to their community. The invitations went out and the book club was formed.
The actual name of our book cub is the Bee-otch book club, but for obvious reasons we often choose to just call ourselves the Bee’s. Both names impart the sassy spirit of our club.
We can be opinionated and very vocal, but we always try to respect the opinions of others and let everyone have their say. Every month we meet and share a bottle (or three) of wine, enjoy foods based on our book choices or the time of year, we bring donations to the causes we care about, talk about plans, and we usually get around to discussing the book of the month too! It’s all very laid back and casual and a ton of fun.
We encourage those who can't join us in Colorado Springs to create their own Bee’s Book Club in their community. For a how to on creating your own Bee’s Book Club check out the page in the tabs above.
